Im 15 years old, and have been sleeping on a couch for almost 9 years. My EVIL grandma moved in my house 9 years ago, and forced me to sleep on the couch. My house has only 2 bedrooms and, has to hold 5 people. My parents have a room, my sister and grandma share the other, and I have to sleep somewhere else. I had slept on a camp cot in my parents room for about 2 years, and then moved to the couch in the living room.
My couch is firm, but sort of slants where my hips lay. I have been getting back, hip and knee pain quite a bit lately and I’m really young to be getting pains like this. Will I have issues with this when I’m older? Will I have to get hip/knee replacements?
I hate my life >:/
No, there’s no money problem, it’s just they don’t care about me. Oh well.
Tell your parents you need a bed, or you’ll call Social Services.
This is ridiculous, to have you sleeping on the sofa 9 yrs, to the point of joint problems.
Your spine and its future are being damaged.
It, along with your brain, run the show.
Both need to be fit & able for a good future.
Also, see a doctor and he will bill the parents. "Hitting the Wallet" ( in all areas of life) usually gets results. Maybe they’ll get the point.
Meanwhile, on your own, see what excercises you can do to help your back.

It makes me sad, that people on Yahoo Answers care more about you than your parents.
TIP: Dont hate your life. Prove you are better than the circumstances you’ve been thrown into. Many great people were, who they became, because of bad parents.
John Lennon for one.

Do something positive to focus your negative energy. Ten years from now…You’ll be glad I told you this today.
why doesnt she buy a bed? a couch is ok for a temporary sleeping place but for 9 years?? you probably dont have serious damage, but still get a bed or at least just put a mattress on the floor.
It’s horrible for your neck and back. My dad used to lay on the couch and sleep when he got off of 3rd shift. Finally he had such bad pain he had to go to the doctor.
They told him that the damage from sleeping on a couch was almost equivalent to a bad car accident.
Why can’t someone get you at least a small bed? If money is an issue you can go to your local Salvation Army and sign up for a mattress. They will help find you one at a cheaper price.
