Kids always eagerly await living in the great outdoors especially, even for just a day or two during the weekend trip. This is the time for them to get the much-needed exercise in the fresh air and the sunshine outdoors. These types of luxuries are not easily available in the cities.

For the next three months or so families, can schedule a series of group outings for the leisure the working dads need as a break from their jobs. The moms, now full time home caretakers of the kids who are out of school, will welcome joint family outdoor trips too, for a chance to meet other moms equally kept busy for the entire week looking after their broods on vacation. 

The summer trips will give the parents a chance to exchange views among themselves on the new TV headliners on the current topic of the day affecting the entire world - global warming. This coming summer will be their first time to observe the effects of this phenomenon on the temperatures outside of their homes when they camp out in their favorite summer destinations.

They could also be meeting in the camping sites the advocates now taking the lead in the movement for a better world. The groups of former Vice President Al Gore, and lately also the advocacy group of former President Bill Clinton, may be out in the field to advance their ideas started on the Internet, regarding the dire need to act fast on the environmental problem of rising world temperatures. 

Here in America, the environmental problem may not be so pronounced yet, as we are in the temperate zone. We are still luckier that we can still talk about camping out in the summer with our families.

It could be different in the tropics and in the island nations surrounded by the major oceans of the world. The effect on them by the rising world temperature may be very different. 

Some incidents of food riots are even beginning to take place in countries with big populations affected early by the rising prices of food, presumably the effects of the decreased volume of production of food due to the rising global temperature. Scientists predict, based on their studies that problems that are more serious could arise in the not so distant future.
